a tiring day....but didn't do much hmmm work today was tiring.... started at 8 today.... did my baths and changes and den did a bit of slacking, before bein called up by the NO... the ward clerk and myself were called in for departmental briefing.... lotsa things for us to know... so we got started at 930.... tat session ended at 1130.... we were asked to go for our break... so till 12, we rested before going on our daily duties... but we were called in at bout 1230.... for another in-depth briefing... this time we lasted till 145, cos roll call is at 2... so we attended the rc and den went for a short break.... i went for a 10min break... when i came back after tat, i was assigned to have another preceptor... her name's roslina.... so she handed me my clinical checklist and a checklist for my laerdal resus training.... she'll be guiding me daily... i'm on a 3-months probation.... so stressed up now.... my brain is filled wif NO's briefing and now i have to study my notes again.... how can i even forget tat a 24hrs continuous enteral feeding bag needs to be changed by staff of the nite.... a new bag must be put up at 12mn, and will last till 12mn the following day.... haiz.... if i'm stressed, my preceptor lagi stress.... oh well.... must rem all these already.... guess i'm kinda rusty.... haha.... oh well.... day is damn tiring.... but at least i have a longer rest tonite.... cos i'm on afternoon tmr... hee... so i can rest for a lil longer.... hehe.... hmmm
!!bleahzies for the day!! hmmm today was rather bz in the ward.... i was literally running ard.... from toilets, parameters, sending pts ard... i even had to help a pt find her son.... he was someware in the ward, playing... so i searched for some time till i finally found him in the female toilet playing wif toilet rolls.... hahaha.... cute la.... i even had to chase him ard cos he refuse to go and sit by his mother's bed.... hahah....anyway, i also had a lil unexpected incident wif a pt.... a hospital asst was wif me to send a pt to the skin centre.... besides us two, of cos the ambulance driver was ard, there was noone else... off we went to the ambulance... halfway to the centre, my pt had a cardiac arrest.... cos it was only me and hospital asst at the back, we had to do something.... and cos i'm the trained one, i did it.... so we got the driver to pull to a stop and i did the CPR.... i got the driver to help me "air" the pt... so he took the mask and did as he was told.... so i did the compressions.... and lucky for me i focussed on the pt instead of my panic.... phew... so after about 2 rounds, pt was revived.... and so we stabilised her and got her back to TTSH asap.... we rushed her back to the ward and the staff nurses took over from there.... lucky for her, she's alrite now.... hee.... gd gd... hmmm anyway, it was bz so my feet is killing me... jus soaked them in warm but rather hot water.... hee... nice... hee me also came back not long ago... went out wif my dear for sushi, after werk.... hee yummylicious sushi.... so after sushi, we walked ard a bit den went to the supermarket.... i bot some stuffs for myself.... bread, juice, clipper, oranges, and some fish cakes...... bread for my breaktime at the ward.... and the rest for home... hee.... well, i had a great day.... not really tired tho.... still energetic.... mite be going for a nite jog lata too.... oh well, see how.... hee.... hmmm my utmost tanx to God above, for giving me a great day.... tanx God for listening to my prayers each nite.... U always answer my prayer.... tanx.... Amen
my first day at werk.... well, first day.... one word.... boring.... nothing much to do... oh well.... here's how my day started.... reached the hospital at 815..... den had to go to the HR at 830 ware i had to hand in some forms back and den go up to my ward.... i was introduced to the male NO... frenly middle aged man... a real joker.... hehe.... anyway, i was shown ard and was asked to stick to non other than a pal of mine.... ros... from my ITE days.... hehe... cool.... now she's my senior... hee... den i was given my temp staff card and locker key.... and off i went to resume duty.... nothing much to do.... parameters, off plugs, give drips, fetch pt.... send pt.... wait for pt..... bring pt go toilet, change pt's diaper..... all round it was tat.... den i even looked into case files to see my pt's diagnoses.... one pt had a cornea abcess due to contact lenses.... wad she used is wad i used.... but she got the abcess due to her slping wif it.... haiz.... nvr ever slp wif ur contacts on.... see wad happens.... looking at her eye, i felt the shivers.... cos she had this "chronicles of riddick" eye.... lucky only her rite eye.... left was spared.... and she is a model.... now, we wonder if she'll still be modelling.... poor her.... hmmm anyway, its a great day.... except for wen i had to wait for the female NO... was to meet her at 5 but in the end she said meet her tmr.... haiz... and to tink i waited.... from 430 i waited till 515 for her.... only to be told to go back.... she'll meet me tmr.... haiz.... wad a letdown... oh well.... life... hee... but above all, my day was great.... met new ppl and made frens wif them.... not really frens but ph well.... hee....
